Electricity emergency

Call 105 the national three-digit telephone number to report or get information on power cuts. This will put you through to your Local Network Operator free of charge. The service is available in England, Scotland and Wales and can be called from most landlines and mobile phones.

Gas emergency

Call 0800 111 999 the National Gas Emergency Number if you are aware of a leak of gas or suspect an escape of gas. If safe to do so, you should immediately open all windows and doors, and extinguish any naked flames. Evacuate the premises immediately and call the National Gas Emergency Number.

Tampering with electricity or gas meters can be dangerous. If you see or suspect energy theft, please report it to Stay Energy Safe by calling 0800 023 2777.

Identify your Distribution Network Operator

Your Distribution Network Operator (DNO) can be found from your Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN). You'll see your MPAN number on your invoice, the first two digits of the bottom line of your MPAN is your distributor ID.
